Flying Alone With 3 Kids, Four And Under Am I Mishuganah?

I recently flew to Chicago with my three kids, ages four and under, and it had its challenges. I would do it again, alone, because there is nothing like visiting family-grandparents, cousins, sisters, nepehews, aunts-pricess.

You can read all about my adventure to Chicago as well as my recent outing to The Kosher Restaurat & Wine Experience at Chelsea Piers. I've also uploaded some new videos on youtube, so if you look up Primetimeparent, you can get a taste, so to speak, of what's been going on with me, kosher food, and travel.

Good Shabbos!

I also just celebrated my 6th Wedding Anniversary-it seems like just yesterday that I was single and davening to find my Beshert-Baruch Hashem. I wrote about these experiences here http://www.nycmomsblog.com/esti/

I flew to Baltimore once from L.A. with an almost 5, and almost 2, and 6 1/2 mo pregnant. We went at night both ways and the kids were great (tho. security with a diaper bag, a car seat and a booster was challenging, to say the least), but we were so exhausted when we got in since us grown-ups didn't sleep on the flight that it did not make for a fun visit with the family. If you fly during the day, they are frisky, but at least you all get to rest up when you get to your destination. I guess it's about trade-offs.

Since then, I flew once alone with my then 2 months old baby, only up to San Francisco, and it was an exhausting experience. Hashem sent me some very nice strangers to help out along the way, otherwise, it would have been intolerable in security.

first of all, you ARE mishugga, i just flew israel to america and back with one well behaved toddler and it was more than enough for me. second of all, just checked out Sheitels and strollers re-DISCovery, and had no idea you were a shearim alum. I was a leadership fellow in 06-07 and stayed on for an extra (almost) year after that. i'm still in touch with everyone now, bc i live in Jerusalem.

Nice to know we have something in common!
