ShmiraWear: Be Safe, Be Smart, Be Seen With New Line of Reflective Apparel
There are some statistics that we all want to hear about, and there are some we never want to know from at all. This is one of those statistics. Nearly fifty percent of all pedestrian injuries and fatalities occur on Shabbos. Every seven seconds, a pedestrian is injured or killed – and most of these fatalities occur in urban areas, according to a variety of sources including the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The good news is that there is a entrepreneur in the Jewish community that has made it his mission to make such statistics disappears. I had the opportunity to interview David Hess, founder and owner of safety product manufacturer Luminosity International, and hear about his creation, ShmiraWear. The line of high-visibility and reflective apparel and accessories – including raincoats, sash/belts, and snap wraps – were designed for adults and children to wear while walking; riding their bikes early in the morning and at night; for children coming home from school in evening hours; and for anyone who is in a situation which has many potential safety hazards due to visibility issues.
You can hear the entire interview on Blog Talk Radio. You can also learn more about ShmiraWear at http://www.shmirawear.com.
