Real Jewish Mothers

I have always been a working mom. I went back to work when my first child was 6 weeks old. I worked literally until my second child was born. I was so adamant to finish a project that Gavin sat in my office in Manhattan timing my contractions and we went straight to the hospital and I answered emails on my blackberry a few hours post birth. I now travel frequently to NY for work. My husband also travels a lot. We have figured out the logistics and balance as a family. We spend lots of quality…See More

Twist of Fate

I started writing this blog August in Cuba and we are now in Czech Republic and the same ideas resurfaced. Street child or rich kid? Communist or capitalist? Living in war torn terror or an American life of pleasure? We landed in Cuba last month and the scene at the old dilapidated airport is straight out of the movies. Hundreds of happy Cuban's are waiting to greet loved ones. Many are seeing relatives for the first time in many years. Kids are eagerly awaiting the gifts that come from…See More

Oh The Places You'll Go

I have travelled far and wide.Often with my family by my side.I have slept in hammocks and a hard bed.I have slept in tents and a bed with a crucifix above my head.I have slept in the back seat of a car and budget airlines traveling very far.  I have tried to sleep on a beach, with music blaring all night at a screech. I have slept in a park where I was fearful of the dark.I have slept in overnight coaches and a train station waiting room full of roaches. I have slept sweaty and sandy with no…See More

Us and Them

Since moving to Israel in 2014 with my family I have been "living" between 2 countries and 2 cultures. We recently went on a cruise to Alaska and on a day trip I could not help but notice the Purell culture. Basically everywhere you go in the US you see Purell. The message washing hands prevents spread of germs. I can't help but contrast this with Caila's first day of kindergarten in Israel. I mentioned to the teacher that she does not always wash her hands after the bathroom and someone should…See More

I am trying to use MetroImma to the best advantage, I really am. I am hoping you can help me. I would like to see who from my contacts is already on metroimma so I can "friend" them, without having to send invites to people that are not on MetroImma already. Is that possible? I would love some advice. Thanks!

I love the pics of your kids, and was so interested to read about you I have also helped start two non-profit organizations for Jewish Arts. I am on the board of ATARA, the Arts and Torah Association, we are having our annual conference on the Upper West Side this November 12 -14. It is an all women's event, hope you can come and let people know. Our web is www.artsandtorah.org, our conference is for Jewish women doing Torah inspired performing arts.
