shlissel challah

In case you didn't know, or needed a reminder, this week is the week to bake shlissel challah, challah imprinted with or shaped like a key. It is a segulah for parnassah, and fun, too!

I'm so happy you were able to use it! I also found it extremely helpful to watch someone braid with six strands. The text illustrations are hard to follow so when I came across the YouTube video I was really excited. I will try and add it here as well so anyone who wants to can easily access it!

Comment by rebecca klempner on March 5, 2010 at 2:25am: I just wanted to thank Bracha for posting on the other Challah site the link for the YouTube video of doing a 6-strand braid. I've never been able to follow directions to do it before and I got it right the first time after that video! I just did it the third time tonight, and my husband said, "Wow! The challah looks great honey...just like bakery challah!"
