Ideas for Day Trips or Overnight Trips during Chanukah Break or Winter Break

Last year we drove to Hearst Castle and spent the night at Morro Bay. It was fantastic! It was 2 days and 1 night. We felt like it was a real vacation.

This year is no different. We are still on a tight budget. Any ideas? The kids loved staying in a hotel. I'm game for a 1, maybe 2 night stay if the price is right.

so this is an expensive option, but since you dont have to stay over, you offset the hotel price... How bout disney? The kids will lovvvve it, and if they're happy, you'll be happy!

Wish I could afford a vacation! There's Calico ghost town in Barstow and you could go to see snow on the same trip. The motels out that way are WAY cheaper.

no thoughts but i'd love to hear other people's ideas. I just posted on gourmet kosher cooking a request for chanukah activities - day, night, vacation, at home, you name it...
