I liked the link! I've been exploring some fun L.A. outings this summer and want to point out a particular one with pluses and minuses. The California Science Center has a new amazing and fun exhibit called ECOSYSTEMS. You can get away with the 8 buck parking and a small donation at the door for a wonderful (and AC'd) all-day excursion. My family has already been twice, and we plan to go back again at the end of August.
HOWEVER, as my rebbitzen pointed out. The entire main building of the science center has tumas meis. There are currently 2 mummies exhibits at the science center, and even when they are gone, there are preserved human fetuses in an exhibit about human development in the "World of Life" wing. This is a heads-up for anyone who has Kohanim in the family.
For Kohanim, it is possible to go to the Air and Space building and you can attend the IMAX if you are sure to exit out the first floor (where you enter) instead of following the crowd out the exit at the top of the theater.
