Probiotics are a buzzword these days, but not without reason! They are the beneficial bacteria that live in our gut and help our digestive system function properly.

Babies benefit immensely from probiotics, as they have been shown to boost the immune system, aid in the functioning of the digestive system and prevent conditions such as asthma and eczema. Babies get all the benefits of probiotics when mothers take them while nursing, as they are passed to the baby through the breast milk. Research shows that people who take probiotics are better able to absorb minerals and other nutrients. The baby’s immune system is largely dependent on the development of the gut flora inside its digestive tract. Probiotics ensure that the baby develops a strong immune system.

Check out my blog www.organicbabynews.com for more information on probiotics. I also have a lot of other posts about raising an organic baby.
