Permalink Reply by Maral on May 6, 2009 at 10:50am I plan on nursing my baby. I do have a question though. A few years ago my cousin's baby nurse had really limited her diet, no greens because it would give baby gas, no tomatoes because it could give baby heartbearn. She got to experience the beauty of nursing BUT was really limited in what she could eat! My pregnancy is already limiting my diet due to food aversions, i'd like to think that once the baby is born i can at least eat the things I used to LOVE. What do you think? Should a nursing mother REALLY restrict her diet???

usually you can eat everything, but you still have to be careful with alcohol and medicine. Once your milk has come in you should watch your baby for reactions to your food - some babies don't do well with dairy products others with soy etc. But the best is to wait and see what your baby is like. I can eat whatever and my munchkin is okay...
