Kutshers? Other weekend getaway suggestions?

I'm looking for somewhere to take my family Sunday-Monday that has some fun stuff for kids, Kosher food and decent accomodations.  I've heard of Kutshers but I've never heard any personal accounts.  Has anyone been there that can give some feedback?  Any other suggestions?  It just has to be within a couple hours of New York City and reachable by public transport if possible.

I'm not looking for anything superexciting like a theme park, a hotel with a pool, some nice stuff to walk around a look at and Kosher food, that's all I want.
