Hipsters and Hassids the Gallery Event

NYR Studios presents “Hipsters and Hassids,” a one-night exhibition and gallery party featuring a new painting series by Elke Reva Sudin. This event is open to the public, and gallery visitors will enjoy live performances, celebrity guests, and surprises throughout the evening.

“Hipsters and Hassids” celebrates two diverse cultural groups who maintain an uneasy coexistence in the creatively charged neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Sudin paints portraits and urban landscapes to reflect the similarities these groups have despite their conflicting values and lifestyles. Sudin is an observant Jew and young artist who was rigorously schooled in traditional illustration techniques and creates paintings that are influenced by emerging trends in graphic novels, graffiti and the street art of Brooklyn.
