SUMMARY:HIGH HOLIDAY SERVICES ON THE UPPER WEST SIDE
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to inform you that this year on the High Ho
lidays together with our longstanding rabbi, Isaac Mann, we will have
the services of a world-renowned cantor – Shmuel Bodenheimer, better
known as “Bodi.” Besides his hazzanut skills, he is acclaimed as
a singer and songwriter and leader of the Jewish music group Bsamim. H
e is also a film/television composer and entertainment industry entrep
reneur. Our services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur should prove to b
e spiritually and musically uplifting.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe High Holiday ser
vices will take place in our previous location -- at Ohab Zedek (OZ),
118 West 95th Street, in the social hall. If you have davened with us
before, please join us again. If you have not, then come and be part o
f a small heimishe traditional Orthodox minyan that has been part of t
he West Side community for over seventy years. Founded by refugees fro
m Vienna and Prague, we continue to maintain the Ashkenaz customs in a
n environment that is friendly and outreaching. Whoever comes will be
honored with an aliyah or with opening the holy ark. Our gabbai, Laury
Blitz, is always happy to accommodate your requests.\n\n\n\n\n\nBest
of all, there is no charge. The services are free to whoever cannot af
ford the cost of seats. Of course, if you can afford to contribute, we
welcome and encourage your donations.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile the shul has n
ot had regular Sabbath services for the past few years, we continue to
function for the holidays, and we continue to maintain our cemetery p
lots at Mount Moriah. We are hoping that at some point later this year
, we can sponsor a cultural event that will highlight the contribution
of Austrian Jews to Jewish life in the United States. .\n\n\n\nThe sc
hedule of our services is as follows:\n\n\n\nROSH HASHANAH\n\nWednesda
